The Cross-referencing tool allows you to:
- insert new cross-references. This is a replacement for Word’s built-in cross-referencing dialog, with additional functionality
- check all existing cross-references for issues, such as missing or invalid targets
- scan the document for hard-typed text that fits the pattern of a cross-reference with the goal that you will replace these with cross-reference fields where appropriate.
